ABOUT ME I am Dr. Ogunbona Oluwagbohunmi Oluwaseun, a passionate Health Economist and Development Advocate with a lifelong commitment to empowering communities and driving sustainable change. Fluent in English, Yoruba, and with a working knowledge of French, I’ve dedicated over 30 years to bridging the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that economic development translates into real improvements in people’s lives.
As the Director of the Oluwagbohunmi Development Foundation, I lead initiatives that empower women, uplift youth, and improve access to healthcare in underserved communities. My work has taken me from rural villages in Nigeria to global stages, collaborating with organizations like UNDP, UNICEF, and the World Bank to create programs that make a tangible difference.
I hold a PhD in Health Economics from the University of South California and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan. My academic journey has been enriched by certifications from Harvard University (Positive Behavior Support for Young Children, Leaders of Learning), MIT (Challenges of Global Poverty), and Bradford University, England (Development and Economic Modeling). These experiences have equipped me with the tools to tackle complex challenges in health, education, and economic development.
My career has been a blend of academia, research, and hands-on fieldwork. I’ve lectured at universities, supervised postgraduate students, and authored 5 books and over 30 peer-reviewed papers. My research has pioneered innovative approaches to engendering the Nigerian budget, ensuring that policies address the unique needs of women and vulnerable groups.
